Little Boots Box Set

Older readers - that's Myrtle and Wilbur Older, of Hunchback County, WIS, - may remember, in their moments of lucidity, a long-running feature here at th' House O' Foam©, featuring features by everyone's favorite lazy-assed band, Little Feat. "Hey - whatever happened to them?" they mumble as they stand in the middle of the room wondering why the hell they went in there. "Them was th' good ol' days ... "

Well, Dear Houseketeer®, them days is back. In a very special extry bonus feature, today's Hamper of Happiness includes all the boots already posted, plus all the others that I was going to get around to posting once I remembered if I posted them already or not. That's nineteen albums, or 19, whichever comes first.

Given that Lowell only wrote three songs, there's bound to be some repetition, and given the nature of bootlegs there may be the occasional tagging error and lapse in audio quality, but quit yer whining awready.

No way am I posting nineteen covers, this is just a selection. Gee, was it ever fun designin' these swell album covers and imaginin' the looks of envy I'd get from the gang at the malt shop when I breezed in with these puppies under my arm! Hoo boy!

    1. No, there are 19 here. Thank you. I just wasn't expecting such a bounty. Gives me something to do whilst I hide from that virus deal.

  3. They were booked so many times at the mountain resort I own.....Fanny Chapper's Pavillion and bailed every time. Oh well, I'll take this mountain, 2Gbs, of boots by way of compensation. Thank you Farquhar! I do hope dinner is still on at 7, and then on to the Cofer Cabana for the floor show with the rest of the Brat Pack. Toodles.

  4. Well. Wow. How much Little Feat can a man have?

I got all the "official" releases. Plus Lowell's album. And "Electrif Lycanthrope" obvs. Also, your Brady Theatre download from a while ago. So . . . to listen to another 17, 18, 19 albums, even just once, might require me to self isolate for a while. I'll have to check with Mrs Molloy to see if we're busy.

On the other hand (the one with the scoop), your Santa Monica and puppet covers are so enticing maybe I should just press the button. Thanks for the dilemma.
    Cheers, Peanuts Molloy.

  6. Not to mention Lowell on old Mothers of Invention recordings. And I thought it was going to be Lil Boosie

  7. Many thanks. A follower since their beginnings. Always good music regardless of who was actually in the band at the time. I've inputted all 18 into my ITUNEs for mp3 playing and it tells me it's a day's worth of music. Lots of songs, and you not one version of "Easy to Slip" a personal favorite. LIke a kitten, I'll be occupied by this string of music for days or longer. Mange takk.

  8. ah gee whiz Farq, I alreadys downloaded some of these!!! think of all those wasted internet resources! I guess it's helping the economy though payin' those folks to empty our computer recylin' bins overflowin' with all those extra files. As Uncle Stumpy used to say, better too many feet than not enough! (or was it "two feet" ... can't remember)

    1. House Marsupial JJ Wombat raises the delicate subject of funeral music. I'm toying with the following for my own:

      - Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep - Middle Of The Road
      - Aga-Do-Do-Do - Black Lace
      - Shaddap You Face - Joe Dolce
      - Little Arrows - Leapy Lee
      - Y Viva Espana - Sylvia
      - Crazy Frog - Axel F
      - Chicken Dance Song - Archie Valparaiso

Perhaps th' Four Or Five guys should be addressing this issue with some urgency, given we're all going to die from coronavirus pretty soon.

    2. It's a sobering thought, for sure, but one or another version of
"Mah Nà Mah Nà" ought to fit right in.

    3. Funnily enough - or, funeraly enough - the music library at my local crematorium has THREE versions of MAHNA MAHNA in their choices for services

  12. Thanks to LOFT©, the Low-Ozone Footprint Technology exclusively used at the House O'Foam© Bitrate Conversion Facility, you'll actually find these files FREEING UP valuable real estate on your hard drive! Think of them as the internet equivalent of Omega 3, actively reducing cholesterol! And think what you can do with all that extra space! Maybe a hobby den for your quiet hours, or a romper room for the kids!

  16. Holy Shit, that's a lot of Lowell George & Co. (ans a lot of storage space to put your Feat under the table…)

I'll be honest, I'm cherrypicking here and kept about two sets of those great songs that, while great, I don't need in sixteen or seventeen versions. But thanks for giving a chance to cherrypick! The Electric Lycathrope and Hellzapoppin sets seem both well played and with superior sound. And the rarities on No Whispering are interesting.

    1. There's no rules about what you're supposed to do with this stuff. But be thankful for that unfairly maligned file format mp3 - the greatest thing to happen to music since the 45rpm single.

    2. Oh, I sure am happy that you post Mp3s. More power to those FLAC snobs but my computer is aching for more space with all the fab music on this blog as is, so MP3's are A-OK with me. I never kept dozens of boots, even of my favorite artists, because how many times can you listen to the same songs with the most minuscule of variations? That's why I don't get all these weird deluxe boxsets where they issue, say, ten concerts from the same Yes tour with exactly the same set list. Sure, they might play different solos here and there, but seriously, I would have other things to listen a d rather discover

  17. Would LUV to have that girl... erm, have the NAME of the ARTIST responsible for that gal on #2 - the Santy Monikker cover...

I was thinking . . . Gil Elvgren or perhaps Earl Moran, but Goo-Gill tells me otherwise. . .

"Mount Moran . . . a mountain in Grand Teton National Park of western Wyoming, USA."

  18. Yo Farq. My sorted out version of this went the way of the Dodo in the great laptop death of 2021. Would you mind uploading these again, I'm on a bit of a Lowell George trip right now...

    1. Well...judging from what I wrote above at the time, I guess Lycanthrope, Hellzapoppin and No Whispering might do. Unless there's another favorite in these nineteen you would absolutely want everyone to have...

    2. Tell ya what - write a piece on Lowell-era Feat and I'll re-up everything in the comments to that.
