Great Classics Of Literature Out Th' Ass Dept. - Oz Part II

If you missed the first batch of Oz Magazine posted a while back, you're out of luck. But for those cunning enough to grab issues 1-12 of the era-defining smut rag [FoamFeatured® antecedently - Ed.], today's Fabulous Foamapalooza™ Freebie of issues 13-24 will make a swell addition to your Library Of Books!

Relive those fabulous sixties! Give yourself a headache trying to read orange-on-purple type! This selection includes the head-spinning all-Martin Sharp Magic Theatre issue [above - Ed.]. The man is a genius.

This post made possible by the Woololongabonga Institute Of Hi-Tone Literature, especially Margaret "Muffy" Mangletrouser.

    1. An excellent answer, and fully deserving of a link. But I think I'm going to string this one out to breaking point before I make like Santy Claws. More sambwidges?

  2. My favorite sambwidge is a Katz's Pastrami Sandwich with mustard, and a half sour pickle on the side.

    1. You mean the pickle is half sweet? How do they do that?

    2. Here in New Yawk, a "full-sour" kosher dill pickle is fully fermented, while a "half-sour" kosher dill pickle, has a shorter time in the brine, keeping it crisp and bright green.

  4. Does the "Throckmorton Sign" point to the sammich maker or the eater?

  5. My all time favorite was called the Godfather! Can't find them anymore, unfortunately.

  6. I was going to say "hamb and cheese," but that'd just be playing with words.
Considering how much influence Spinal Tap's had on my world view, Shark
Sandwich would be the more honester of an answer.

  10. Thanks for these. I wasn't gonna bother cos I think I've got these in the loft somewhere, along with my Gandalf's Garden collection and a few very dodgy Process cult magazines, but hell, I've got plenty of time and I like a challenge. I still think you're a bot though.

    1. How about scanning those Gandalf's Gardens for posterity? I had them all except for the last. That was the U.K.'s real hippie magazine - OZ was distrusted.

    2. OK, so maybe, just maybe, you might not be a bot. I'll put the finding and scanning of Gandalf on the to do list. Honest. And thanks.

    3. That would be - well, it would be groovy. I remember John Hurford's beautiful art and would love to see it again. Fantastic.

  11. Okay. Samwidges. I have this theory that two main ingredients (other than bread n' spread) is the maximum. Those Subway monsters all taste the same - a kind of damp, generic "sandwich" taste. Bacon/lettuce/tomato - what's the lettuce doing in there? The tomato is okay, but doesn't improve a plain bacon sandwich. Ketchup is better.

Bread is as important as ingredients, but again, too complex and you've lost it. No seeds or nuts, thank you, just plain real bread, white or brown, and not too heavy.

    1. I agree: bread, butter (no mayo or "special" sauces), turkey, swiss, and maybe some pepper and oregano/italian seasoning if you got some is all I want on a samwidge. Sometimes roast beast instead of turkey but still meat & cheese only please
