King Tut

Tut Taylor wasn't even a household name in his own house. "Who the hell are you?" his wife asked every morning. "Hey! I was in the Folkswingers!" he replied. "Never heard of 'em!" At which point he'd sigh and point to the printout of his Wikipedia page stuck to the refrigerator door.

You like guitar playin' and a-pickin' with a Tennessee swing, King Tut's your man, yessireebob. It's resophonic, is what it is!

  2. oh, I misread this and almost penned a vitriolic diatribe! I thought he was printing out the page every day! Can you imagine that?!?! Just leave it pinned there you imbecilic pine nut! But of course he was merely pointing to the same print out everyday! Now that's American know how, right there! Who says America's lost its way?!? Point me at 'em! I'm going to pin this page to my fridge and let TT show how it's done -- the American way! Print once cut twice!!

  3. Not sure that Tut was involved with the Folkswingers (check out the link on the Glen Campbell post a few weeks past) but he did record 2 with the great Clarence White, whose first involvement with the Byrds coincidentally was on YTY. If anyone is interested in hearing the 2 with Clarence I will (with Mr T's permission) post them.

    1. Tut will refer you to his wiki page, Sam:

"Taylor was a member of The Folkswingers in the 1960s"

(No permission to link uploads required - go ahead - much appreciated)

A little sleuthing on Discogs shows there is an album TUT TAYLOR & THE FOLKSWINGERS 12 STRING DOBRO, A different set of musicians from the Glen Campbell & Dillards albums on which Tut does not appear. Mandolin on the 12 String Dobro album (which can be found on youtube) is credited to a certain CHRISTOPHER HILLMAN. (oh, what a mine of useless information I am, only partly thanks to the internet.)
