John-Boy Kennedy's Psychedelic Psitting Room Dept.

Gran'ma Kennedy wins this weeks kwiz!

You'll know
hunky dreamboat John-Boy Kennedy from the long-running T.V. series The Kennedys, chronicling the lives of an inbred hillbilly family on Kennedy Mountain. But did you know he's also a keen collector of psychedelic vinyl?

Study the above Foam-O-Graph© [above - Ed.] and see if you can identify his favorite album! Note almost-hot sister Mary Ellen, tripping balls in family sitting room! Note retarded younger brother Jason, all gussied-up for the hoedown!

Well, youse bums lost. Face it. No soup for you!

  1. Allude to John-Boy's favorite album with clew, hint, or suggestion! Do not name directly!

(As a confirmer - the cover features another family member!)

  2. I'm going to allude to Hits from the Bong by Cypress Hill. Too obvious? It's early here, I've just got vertical.

    1. This is a fantastic allusion! Fantastic in the sense of having no foundation in truth. But hey - your early is my late.

Man, this chap has no idea, in fact nobody knows, which you can take as an obscure link to the chorus of the second last song on the album, or just a statement of fact. Also, as someone too young to remember where I was when yesterday's breaking news happened, I have no idea about the amefican family or which one would be on the lp cover unless they wore a particular headpiece.

So, there's a vase of flowers but its too small to see if they are roses, there's a watering can but it hasn't got a rose on it. There's a comic but it's not Jackie. There isn't a Teddy bear in it. There's a song about a policeman, but there's no Bobby on the album cover.

I think I'm barking up the wrong lp, however if anyone wants to guess the one I'm thinking of, then I could hijack this quiz off our host and award a handsome carriage clock to the winner.

  9. I think the answer lies in the upper left framed picture, but eyestrain prevents precise identification.
While I'm here, I must add that your current photoshop-work above is so stinking funny. Big thanks for all that you create, visually.

    1. Konrad is definitely in the right general area here. Note full album cover not shown on account you'd see title, rendering exercise futile.

    2. Oh, and Photoshop is wayyy out of my league. I use Preview (bundled with Mac), and the equivalent of Paint, and a shitty photo filter I found on the internet that nobody wanted.

  11. Hello Pardner',

I coulda' sworn this was a reenactment of Throbbing Gristle's "Greatest Hits: Entertainment Through Pain" LP.

May only your turkey and not your goose be cooked today.

    2. Five of the tracks date from the 1996 Andy Paley sessions - available if you don't have them.
The first track is new - the "Waits" one. It has a fragile beauty at times.

    3. I have them somewhere but all mixed up with other material. If you have a nicely-defined edition I'd love that, pleasethankyou.

    4. I have a very complete version - poorly tagged, but better quality than the other one I have. As soon as it uploads, it shall be yours. It's basically the "Landylocked" bootleg, but BIGGER.

Too big to upload with mu connection. But a link (not mine) is available.

Oh come on Mr T, you could have made it a bit more of a challenge than that surely. I bet there's an album of mongolian harp music lurking in your collection crying out to be dusted down to really test us out.

Naah, stick with the obscure, you may be on a roll.

  21. The words on the cover read: The Cambridge Concept Of Timothy Clover/A Harvard Square Affair/The Bean Town Sound - which must have confused the hell out of potential purchasers. It's a very pleasant light psych-pop piece, lushly arranged in that 'sixties way, and basically a psychploitation exercise by a bunch of seasoned musos. Very nice album.

If I can throw my two cent's in - given for inflation I'd say duck because I'm probably gonna' haveta' lob a silver dollar to compensate for exchange rates, the record in questions reminds me a lot of "Would You Believe?" only without th' pep pills.
