Play "Am I Out Of My Fucking Mind?!?!" With T.V.'s Tom Cruise! Dept.

We all know
toothsome Tommy Cruise from his popular T.V. shows Thetan Patrol, Closet Encounters Of The Third Kind, and See Tom Run! so we were thrilled when he announced that filming of his new hit show Am I Out Of My Fucking Mind?!?! would take place right here on the Isle O' Foam©!

Tommy was gracious enough to grant us an interview in his luxury camper van during a break from filming!

FT3 Tombo! Th' Cruisemeister!

TC Please! Call me Sea Org Admiral Operating Thetan Level VIII!

FT3 You got it, Sea Org Admiral Operating Thetan Level VIII!! Say, this luxury camper sure is camper than everyone else's! I'm loving the black leather and chains! Tell us all about your new show!

TC Well, that's a great question, Farq! It's called Am I Out Of My Fucking Mind?!?!

FT3 Ye-eah ... and that would be, what, exactly?

TC It's a fun-type quiz show. Hey! Thanks for finding us this great location among the lusty savages in the remote hinterland jungle of Fabulous False Memory Foam Island©!

FT3 I hear you're guest of honor at a big feast tonight! But before you go, why not try out a quiz question on th' Four Or Five Guys©?

TC That's a fun idea, Farq! Okay - (sticks finger up nose) - Am I Out Of My Fucking Mind, or is there an obscure free jazz album hidden somewhere on the set?

FT3 Join in the fun by hunting for the album and answering the question in a comment! First prize is ten minutes with Tom in a two-man hammock! Second prize, thirty minutes!

  4. I'll GUESS (based on Cruise) that this is a Chick Corea album. Ya know what would REALLY mess with people's heads? Graffiti saying "XENU WAS HERE" chipped into the rock of a cave on Mars. It would explain all the rubble.

    1. Th' Grimster! Grimbo! Lookin' suave!

Nope. I think youse bums are going to need a little handholding.

First, you have to answer the question - is Cruise is out of his mind or not? You shouldn't need a hint for this. Armed with this information, you can tell, without even seeing the cover detail in the picture (toward the center) if it's free jazz or not (again, no hint). But you do need to be able to recognise the sliver of the album sleeve for the full answer.

I've never yet beaten th' Four Or Five Guys©. Maybe my time has come.

  7. Free jazz as in jazz that costs nothing?
Or as in Avant Garde jazz?

  8. "Sayyy - am I out of my mind, or is that David Bowie getting off that bus there?"

"You're out of your mind! That's old Bill Barnbuster!"

I don't think anybody in his right mind would disagree that Tom is out of his. Therefore, and ergo, and furthermore thusly, it ain't a fee jazz album. I've made the cover a little bigger, as youse bums is strugglin' here, and it's a distressin' sight. It is a very swell album, which you'll be pleased to spend some two-man hammock time listenin' with, so take another hinge at th' Foam-O-Graph©. Or I WIN!

    2. ‘Twas years ago and very late. That whole night is a blur now.

    3. Your icon, by the way, is a miniature masterpiece. You and Shark have iconic branding out th' ass. Kudos.

    4. Farq your comment about Hughs icon provoked me to rejoin the internet - I was away for only an hour but it gave me time to paint the house, clean the car and carve myself an icon!

  13. Hmmm... I dunno about that Tommy Cruise fella nor about the secret of pleasure but the lady is waiting somewhere in Arizona at 4:30 a.m and nothing short of misery is gonna stop me seeing the wild side of life. Or summat.

    1. Yup. It's (apart from a throwaway spoken word piece) a beautiful pop album, and Tom chose it because he and Paul Williams are, at 4'11", exactly the same height!

If you haven't got it yet, bear in mind that free jazz was a RED HERRING.

    2. Sir, you are a bounder and a cad, I spent hours (10 minutes) yesterday looking at Archie Stepp, Don Cherry, Albert Ayler etc etc album covers, now to be told that free jazz was a Red Herring. Also having to look at that cover again this morning meant seeing that happy chaps dangling testi again. I shall be instructing my lawyers to send YOU the bill for 1- Time wasting and 2- trauma caused by the whole sorry sharade. I shall also be leaving the internet FOREVER.

Having said all that, it sounds like quite a jolly album.

    3. It's a beautiful piece of work, and a few tracks deserve to be much better known - whenever Scorpio Red comes up on shuffle, so do the hairs on the back of my neck.

  14. How wrong could I be. I was Thinking a jazz version of Pablo Cruise, who come to think of it, might well have been able to do a good job. Still it was fascinating to hear a truncated piece of Stanley Unwin nonsense, a la Ogdens Nut Gone Flake.

  15. Many thanks for the music - I'd heard of them, but not actually heard them. Quite UK baroque sounding at times.
