Harsh conditions and brutal discipline for the incarcerated! But is Society to blame?

Babes Behind Bars! Hoosegow Hookers! Death Row Dames! Big House Broads! Sorority Cellmates! Slammer Sluts! Gubmint Gals! Er ... Correctional Facility Co-Eds? Call 'em what you like - they can't hear you - but what do they get up to in there? In what will be a regular FoamFeaturette™, we address the issue of how the Weaker Sex (bless 'em!) live without menfolk around to give meaning and structure to their lives! And, crucially, with no way to release those oh-so-natural womanly frustrations!

We axed Herta Von Klammpenstrüdel-Dieseldyke [left - Ed.], stern Wardeness of the Pork Bend Residential Facility For Undisciplined Women, for an insight into how "the gals" spend their leisure time!

    Nobody can say we don't take broads' issues seriously at th' IoF©. Also, check the diversity in the main photograph to this rigorously researched piece! That dame at the right - she look Italian to you?

    This is a fantastic album. The title is one of many Serge Gainsbourg's plays on words throughout the lyrics. It sounds like "variations on the same theme" but looks like "variations on the same I love you".

      I have all her other albums, Babs, and they're all worthwhile, although this is (for me) her best. Let me know if you want more! Very interesting woman - not only survived the "manipulated child artiste" stage but turned the whole thing round to get control of her career. She's not well-liked (especially in France), but who cares?

      I also like her self-titled album from '92. 'Love Songs' is also very nice (Johnny Depp might disagree). If time travel were a reality, she would have been better than Nico in the Velvet Underground.

      That '92 album is the only record ever made with Lenny Kravitz' name on it that doesn't stink. It's very swell. Lou apparently dug her version of WOTWS, which is obviously better than his.

    In the interests of balance I should relate how through discussing 'Bad Girls' with my former job supervisor, a young fastidious unflamboyant Gay chap, I ended up pitching the equivalent for blokes eg cruel screws with good physiques, guyliner on the hunky cons, deeply homoerotic punishments etc.

    "HMP Bent - the prison with no holds barred" I offered as the strapline.
    "We'd all be trying to break in to the place", he replied.
