Obscure Delights Dept. - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams Part 1

And yes, this is the vinyl cover. You can be too obscure!

"I had this on vinyl, back in the day" and have searched for it fruitlessly, and vegetablelessly, ever since. It's hard to even search for on line, unless you love Green Day.

So this is my request to you - if you have it, or know somebody who does, please do me - and just about everybody else - a big favour and upload it!

    2. They did lighten up on me, and I am now a trustee. But, as a trustee, I also need to clean the burro stalls. Such is life.......

  5. Farq - going to listen to a friend's band tonight - Cristian Novoa. Originally from Chile, he has lived in Thailand for the past 7 years - lives on a small island and frequently swims to nearby gigs. Great percussionist and composer.

  8. In a very similar vein to this, Charlie Haden lead a group called Quartet West that released about 5 albums focused on similar songs and genre. The first album also had snippets of dialogue from film noir classics in between songs, and the albums often used different singers on cuts (Melody Gardot, Diana Krall and Cassandra Wilson amongst others). Highly recommend to anyone enjoying the Boulevard music.

    1. I like that one the best, but they all have stellar moments. Ernie Watts, the sax player on all of the lps, never sounded better.

  11. And, just cause I love you guys, if yo are interested in some great bossa/samba/jazz, give a listen to Seu Jorge's new album, The Other Side. Best music to emerge from Brazil in 2 decades. Entire lp is on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uhed46Bwfl4&list=PLxA687tYuMWhuGUiJzh91pg_iAwNpg3sg

The mysterious psychedelic-boroque classic called Harumi and produced by Tom Wilson in 1968 has been remastered. With an April 23 release date, I present to you my own needle drop in one link, and the 2026 remaster in the other link. I hope you enjoy it.

    1. This is a fascinating and rare album, and "I had it on vinyl back in the day", the day being when I could (and did, indiscriminately) pick up used vinyl for pennies. I'd hesitate to call it a classic, but it's worth a listen!
Thanks for taking the trouble to leave two links!

If your comment doesn't immediately appear, it means Kreemé is checking the handwriting before passing it on to me. I'm a busy man and have no time to decipher crayoned scrawls.
