DeleteThis is good for a listen, as is everything Ms. Gaga produces, but it's not a keeper, either, like everything Ms. Gaga produces. This one just misses being truly impressive through over-fussy arrangements (including bolted-on rock guitar solos that just don't fit) and the inclusion of songs absolutely nobody needs to hear ever again (Oh When The Saints? Do we have to?).
ReplyDeleteShe has a fantastic voice, but hasn't quite found it yet. She's not a legacy act like Madonna, nor family fodder like Lady Tata, and she's not a gay baths diva like Bette Midler - so what is she? It's a good question, and one she hasn't yet answered.
