| Sir McCartney at his private Isle O' Foam© suite, yestiddy! |
Sir McCartney [above - Ed.] is no stranger to th' IoF©, granting regular interviews and sharing news n' views on today's exciting "pop scene" with your genial host, but our latest FoamExclusive© is sure to send "fans" reeling!
Sir McCartney relaxed poolside whilst [grammar - Ed.] Kreemé [below left, and 18 my ass - Ed.] served signature Elk Spleen and Hospital Tub Water Smoothies!
FT3 Heyyyy! Sir Macca! Lookin' good! Is that a toupé or a wig?
PMC Ha ha! Eh?
FT3 So, tell us more about your exciting plans for the future what will send the pop world reeling!
PMC Have I had me dinner yet?
FT3 You'll get your soup soon as you spill the beans.

FT3 Is Ringo on board with this?
PMC Ringo?
FT3 The drummer. In the Beatles.
PMC Oh, him. Yeah, I don't see a problem there. Last I heard, he was doing a kids' show on the telly about toy trains. Mind you, he must be getting on a bit.
FT3 What about John and George?
PMC They haven't done anything for yonks. They'll be grateful. It's not like they have to write any songs. I've got dozens ... there's Bippity-Flippity-Flop, My Little Squeezy Duckie, Mrs. Grandma O'Grady's Washtub, Let's All Go On A Caravan Holiday ...
FT3 Er ...
PMC Linda will be part of the band, too, she's written a pop opera about vegetarians on the moon! So maybe it'll be a double album! Whoops ... oh dear ... sorry about that ...
FT3 Nurse? NURSE?
[tape runs out - Ed.]

Questions? You, sir, at the back?
ReplyDeleteIs that the guy who played John Lennon in that movies about almost everyone forgetting The Beatles ever existed except....also, is that the sister of the Blink-182 nurse?
ReplyDeleteWith Kremmé on board they could resurrect "Come together" or "Hello Little Girl" or "Do you want to know a secret"! Parody reigns supreme now for us to ponder "the good old days"
ReplyDeletethat's a paul clone one of many i'm guessing
ReplyDeletelady linda eastman kodak's family had the original preserved ...pickled in case something happened to him and apparently it did
now we'll have him to enjoy forever maybe if we're lucky this paul will record yet another side with kanye
...woody
So, another Klaatu album?
ReplyDeleteI laugh. And yet I would buy the rare Japanese import CD single with the five remixes of Bippity-Flippity-Flop.
ReplyDeleteThanks, draftervoi. Doing humor-adjacent content is always disappointing, like telling a joke at a wedding that falls flat, because there's no response. I thought it was funny. And it's in some way a tribute to the man's eternal shining genius that such a pastiche [do you mean pistachio? - Ed.] is possible. If it was about, say, the bass player in Boffalongo, it wouldn't have quite the same effect.
DeleteOne of the problems of internet humor is that you can't judge your jokes by the laughter of a live audience responding in the moment. The same problem afflicts comic novelists. The funniest book ever written is Three Men In A Boat by Jerome K. Jerome. The author has been dead since 1927. He'll never have the satisfaction of knowing that his jokes are still hitting the mark in 2025.
DeleteI must also reveal that I had NO IDEA that "Dancing In The Moonlight" was a cover of a song by a band named Boffolongo. My first impulse was to riff on Boffolongo as if it was as real as Bippity-Flippity-Flop; the Internet being what it is I did what everyone should do and fact-checked my own assumptions. Jeepers, man...that's as obscure as it gets, and they're a North American obscurity, and if I recall correctly, you're from the sceptered isle.
Obscure? Counts as mainstream on th' IoF©:

(And yes, I had them both on vinyl. Good band.)
It does; I had missed the earlier reference, which established Boffolongo for future comedic riffs. In my defense, I listen to a lot of Motörhead which has buffed my brain down to the size and density of a pool ball.
